Tours of the Tales

Afternoon Tour Option B:  Nob Hill

Although a small geographical area in San Francisco, Nob Hill was featured many times in the Tales stories.  Scenes in both the "Tales of the City" and "More Tales of the City" mini-series were filmed on Nob Hill.  Again, the influence of Alfred Hitchcok's Vertigo in the filming of "Tales of the City" is noticeable in the selection of the Brocklebank Apartments as the Day's residence.

A hotel and former restaurant on Nob Hill have an interesting connection to the first installment of "Tales of the City" in The San Francisco Chronicle that resulted in a lifelong friendship for Armistead Maupin.

This Tour starts by taking the California Cable Car to Powell and California streets.
